Monarch Hills is a 24-hour guard gated condo neighborhood in Dana Point, California. These luxury homes are considered to have some of the best prices in the region.
Monarch Hills is the only condo development in the Ritz Pointe neighborhood. There are three other distinct communities; all have single family detached homes. There are 36 buildings, four stories high, at the entrance on Corniche Drive where the condos were built. Units in the front row are highly desired for their views of the ocean and Catalina Island. The community has a swimming pool and three spas, and there are trails leading to Monarch Beach. There is also a fitness center, clubhouse, and two guarded entrances.
Residents are within walking distance to Sea Terrace Park and Salt Creek Beach. Nearby you’ll find the Monarch Links 18-Hole Golf Course, and the Monarch Beach Tennis Club which features eight courts. The five-star St. Regis Hotel is also next door. Laguna Beach is just a short drive away, and there are many stores, restaurants, and services in this area.
The community is served by the Capistrano Unified School District, which offers highly ranked facilities like John Malcom Elementary School and Marco Forster Middle School. Dana Hills High School is also top notch and opened in 1972 making it one of the oldest high schools in the region. Its cross country team has won several state titles. There are also several private schools in this city, such as Broderick Montessori School, Capo Beach Christian School, and Gloria Del Lutheran Preschool.
The City of Dana Point is a popular surfing destination as it has one of the few Orange County coast harbors. It was named after Richard Henry Dana, Jr. who wrote Two Years Before the Mast, describing this area as the “only romantic spot on the coast.” The harbor now features a replica of the Pilgrim, Dana’s ship.
